Hyundai Smartwatch App: Control Your Car From Your Wrist Hyundai Smartwatch App: Control Your Car From Your Wrist

Attention Hyundai owners: from now on you'll feel like James Bond, remotely controlling your car just from your wrist. Yes, the long-awaited smartwatch app that the automaker presented at CES this year is finally out. Already available on Google Play, it is actually a scaled-down version of the Android Wear app, that is to work with first and second generation Blue Link equipped Hyundai models.

As the Hyundai cloud-based platform, Blue Link will allow users to remote start/stop their cars, lock/unlock doors, flash lights or hank a horn, and will even provide quick and easy access to any service information from either smartphone or smartwatch devices. So, to use all the features you'll need not only to download the app, but also have an active subscription to the Blue Link connected services.

This new app expands Hyundai’s exploration into how wearable technology and Blue Link fit into a customer’s lifestyle,” said Barry Ratzlaff, executive director, customer connect and service business development, Hyundai Motor America. “Connecting to your car through a smartwatch and voice recognition was previously something seen only in science fiction movies. Now, we can provide this capability to owners of Hyundai vehicles equipped with Blue Link.”
