Instagram for iOS makes photo-sharing from other apps easier
Those who use Instagram from an iOS device will be glad to know that the company has just updated the app to make photo-sharing from third-party sources a lot easier. From now on, you will be able to create images with your favorite photo editor and then directly upload them via Instagram through the share menu. This new feature has started rolling out this Monday and should already be available to all the iPhone and iPad users who want to use it.
The new functionality is based on the Extensions feature, which Apple added for the first time in iOS 8. The latest Instagram version for iOS adds the option to share directly to Instagram into all the other photo apps that you install on your iPhone or iPad. Basically, all you have to do is to create the image that you want to upload using your favorite photo app (other than Instagram), and then tap Share. Now, press the More button to see all the available options, look for the Instagram choice, then move the switch to the position and you're good to go.
Since up until now Instagram would only allow iOS users to share photos that they had taken with the device's camera, or that were saved to their Photo app, this update can be a real time-saver, especially for someone who shares a lot of images on Instagram.
