Meet JookBox: The Most Sociable Wi-Fi Speaker You've Seen Meet JookBox: The Most Sociable Wi-Fi Speaker You've Seen

Whenever I host a party, my friends always have ideas about the music that should play and constantly mess up my playlist. Furthermore, they usually want different songs at the same time so they keep interrupting each other, which is really frustrating for the rest of people in the room. JookBox is a new device that can help you solve these issues.

At its core, JookBox is a portable, wireless Wi-Fi speaker that can play music from your playlists. The device is controlled via Bluetooth and embeds an NFC chip, so if your phone has this capability, you can easily pair them up. JookBox is just 9 inches long and 3 inches tall, but is capable of delivering 10 watts of sound. Furthermore, on a single charge, the gadget can play up to ten hours of music.

What's really cool is that it comes with an app that allows you to collaborate with your guests on the playlist. All you have to do is send an invite to all those you want pitching in on the music selection and they can send you songs from their libraries or streaming services. The fact that everyone will feel included is a big plus and in case you have a friend who listens to some horrific music, but you don't want him to feel left out, you will be able to move his songs at the bottom of the playlist so they might not be played at all or would be right on cue when people should start heading home.

Another great feature is that the app can control an entire system of up to 10 devices and instruct each of them to play on different channels so that you can easily create a surround sound. At the moment the product is part of a Kickstarter campaign and can be bought for $99 by the first 100 customers, but once it hits the markets (the estimation release date is next February) it will be available for $199.
