Microsoft intesifies its Windows 10 campaign with a new deal
As we've already discussed, the free upgrade to Windows 10 offer is expiring on July 29th and Microsoft is doing everything it can do to get as many people as possible to upgrade to its latest operating system. The company just launched a new offer, which allows you to take your PC to a Windows Store and the technicians there will install the upgrade for you free of any charge. Furthermore, if the upgrade isn't ready in one day, you will receive a free Dell laptop.
However, don't get too many ideas just yet as there are several terms and conditions that you need to comply with first. For starters, the PC that you're taking into the store must be Windows 10 compatible. (If it's not, you will receive $150 in store credit so that you can buy a new computer.) Additionally, the offer only applies to a single PC per customer and only if the computer in question is checked into the store before noon. The deal is only available in the Microsoft Stores from the US and Canada and will expire on July 29th.
To be perfectly honest, I actually like Microsoft's decision to do this. Unlike its previous attempts to get people to upgrade to Windows 10, which were pretty aggressive and quite annoying, this time the IT giant doesn't force users to react and the free installation part is actually great for those who aren't tech-savvy enough to upgrade the operating system on their own.
