Boeing & BlackBerry Work To Create A Self-destructing Phone
It seems that Boeing and BlackBerry have partnered up to create an ultra secure phone specifically designed for government agents and other types of individuals whose work requires the best security possible. Since these people generally deal with very sensitive information, a smartphone that can self destruct when it falls into the wrong hands could be a really great investment.
Truth be told, the device won't make a big explosion like you see in the movies, because it would probably very unsafe for its customers, but that doesn't mean it's not efficient. Whenever someone tempers with its security, the phone will render itself inoperable and permanently purge all the data it contains.
Furthermore, the device will also offer additional security measures such as biometric sensors. The smartphone will use the BlackBerry Enterprise Service 12 security platform and will have dual SIMs capability, which means that you can easily switch between numbers and operators. Lastly, Blackberry's and Boeing's creation will be able to provide its customers with secure communication lines by connecting itself to satellites.
At the moment, we have no idea when the phone will be officially launched or how much it will cost, but it seems that the companies have already started showing the device off to potential customers. As far as we know, if the smartphone turns out to be a success, BlackBerry and Boeing are prepared to launch a customer grade version of the gadget, so that we all can enjoy the same security solutions.
