Talko – Yet Another Revolutionary Approach to Communication Talko – Yet Another Revolutionary Approach to Communication

The messaging app market is buzzing with thousands of different apps, but what comes out if three former Microsoft employees team up? Ray Ozzie, Matt Pope and Ransom Richardson have developed a solution that seems to be capable of crowding its way through and taking a place in the MBaaS (Mobile Backend as a Service) niche. While most of the apps tend to concentrate on one aspect of communication, Talko blends everything together and, surprisingly, remains quite plain.

The app uses Voice Over Internet Protocol for users to exchange short voice messages which are stored in the cloud. The VoIP app also allows to share text messages and images with other members of a group. Pretty similar to what Viber and Whatsapp do, but unlike these, Talko seems to be more suitable for corporate purposes. All members of a group can easily access the message timeline so everyone keeps up to date. The free version of the app saves conversations for up to ten days, and there is also a paid enterprise version with unlimited time of storage and certain administrator features.

The team is currently working to add more features to the app, like ability to share documents and videos. iPhone owners can grab the app straight away while the app versions for Android and 'other platforms' are coming soon.
