Biometric Headphones by 50 Cent Biometric Headphones by 50 Cent

SMS Audio, a company founded by the famous rapper 50 Cent, partnered with Intel to create the SMS Audio BioSport In-Ear Headphones. Deliberately created as a fitness device, the ear-buds feature embedded optical sensors which can monitor the user's heartbeat. The product will be available for online purchasing somewhere at the end of this year.

SMS Audio is a company based in the US that specializes in consumer-grade electronics. Founded in 2011 by Curtis Jackson (aka "50 Cent"), the headphones manufacturing firm decided to donate a percentage of the revenue from each headphone sold in the country to the Feeding America Initiative.

The SMS Audio BioSport In-Ear Headphones are ear buds which can gather fitness-related data about the user. These special headphones feature biometric sensors and heart-rate monitors, giving the customer real-time data without requiring any additional hardware. As fitness and music usually go hand-in-hand, this seems like a very practical solution. The gadget will be available in blue and yellow.

The other important feature for the new ear-buds include noise removal technology that will diminish the sound of body movements during fitness, protection against sweat and water. Furthermore, the BioSport In-Ear Headphones can also be synchronized with the RunKeeper app, so you will be able to plan fitness routines and keep track of your progress.

The exact price and launch date are yet to be revealed, but something tells me the headphones will cost a fraction more than 50 cents.
