The Police Don't Like Smartphone Cases that Look Like a Gun The Police Don't Like Smartphone Cases that Look Like a Gun

If you thought that a hand-shaped selfie stick caused social resonance, check this one out. The U.S. Police officially ask folks on Facebook to refrain from buying smartphone cases that look like guns. Images of people with parts of these cases sticking out of their back pockets have become viral quite a long time ago, so it is really strange that it took so long for the police to react.

Luckily, no accidents associated with the accessory happened so far, yet it's not so hard to imagine a situation that might lead to a tragic end. Here is the message posted on Ocean Country Prosecutor's Office Facebook page: “Please folks - this cell phone case is not a cool product or a good idea. A police officer's job is hard enough, without having to make a split second decision in the dark of night when someone decides without thinking to pull this out while stopped for a motor vehicle violation. What do you think?”

According to Mashable, the cases are still available for purchase on Amazon and a couple of other websites. Although, it seems that Amazon decided to do something with all the raging reviews the products have been receiving lately, as we didn't manage to find any gun-shaped smartphone cases there. Nevertheless, we did manage to find something even more weird.
