Meet Oto Home, The Ear Infection Diagnosing Tool for Your iPhone Meet Oto Home, The Ear Infection Diagnosing Tool for Your iPhone

Modern medicine advancements aren't the only things that can improve the patient's life. Some smartphone tools appear to also have this capability. Oto Home is a new gadget that extends the functionality of your iPhone's camera in order to help you easily diagnose your kid's ear infection.

Developed by CellScope, Oto Home is a device that shoots a video of your child's inner ear and then sends the video to a licensed physician who can give you a professional opinion on the matter. You will receive an answer through email or phone call in two hours at most. If you suffered from such problems when you were a kid, or witnessed a child you cared about go through such things, you know how much good such a device can do.

The downside is that it can seem a bit expensive. The device itself costs $79, but each time you ask for advice from a specialist, you will have to pay an additional fee of $49. However, since a visit to the doctor would cost you an average of $100, and you can use the device at any time from the comfort of your home, the price might be compelling.

You can only utilize Oto Home if you are currently residing in the US, however, the list of states is restricted. To check if the service is available in your location, you will have to visit the product's website. At the moment, the device is compatible with iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s, but the company stated that an iPhone 6 version will soon be released. Furthermore, we don't yet know when an Android version of the gadget will be released or whether one will ever exist at all.
