Facebook releases the 'Discover People' feature on mobiles
Facebook has just started rolling a new feature for mobile users called Discover People. According to the company's announcement, this new function will help you get in touch with people who want to go to the same events that you do, who share the same employer or who live in your general vicinity. Discover People is available on both iOS and Android devices and is rolling out as we speak, so if you don't have it yet, you won't have to wait for it too long.
If the feature is already available on your smartphone, you should see the Discover People option in Facebook's navigation section. Tapping the button will take you to a new screen where you will be asked to update your profile by adding more details about yourself. Below, you will see a list with all the events that you're interested in going to and when you tap one of them, you will see every other Facebook user who also said that wants to attend and who isn't on your friends list. Furthermore, you can also look through the past events that you've attended, so if you met someone at a concert, you now have a better chance of finding them. Lastly, at the bottom of the screen there are two more sections which allow you to check out the profiles of the people in your city or who work for the same employer.
In case Facebook is one of your favorite pastimes, you may also want to read: "Facebook FacioMetrics uses your face for in-app actions" or "Get more out of Facebook".
