Tumblr joins in the hype, bringing new stickers and filters
Since everybody seems to be ripping off Snapchat's features, there's no reason for Tumblr not to join in on this trend. The micro-blogging platform has recently announced that it's adding some high-spirited customization options for the images and GIFs that get uploaded to the service. This means that the users will be able to overlay text, stickers and filters on their visual content. Currently, there are over 100 stickers available, but only five filters to choose from.
In order to access these new capabilities, the users will first have to tap the compose icon to insert their desired image or GIF and once they get to the edit screen, they will see a button at the bottom of the screen that will allow them to insert text, stickers or filters. The added elements can be moved around with a dragging gesture, rotated by turning your finger and enlarged or shrunk using the pinching gesture. The filters have a psychedelic look about them, while the stickers resemble the style of Microsoft Word's clip art from the '90s.
These new features are available on both Android and iOS devices, but you'll need the latest version of the app to use them. Moreover, Tumblr also announced that it plans on introducing more stickers and probably more filters in the near future.
